a)What do you mean by deforestation?

Deforestation means cutting down trees in a large number.Deforestation refers to the intentional or purposely destruction of forest area for agriculture,urban and industrial development.It involves cutting down trees like vegetables and other useful green Leaves which is more important for better life and environment.

b)What are the causes of deforestation?

The causes of deforestation are too many to describe. Bangladesh is the most densely populated country in the world.It's population is much more in proportion to its area.This huge number of population needs more shelter,agriculture land, fuel, furniture and food. For all this reason people cut down trees rapidly. Moreover, there are some dishonest people who cut trees in our forests to make money .

c)What are the effects of deforestation?

The effects of deforestation are many to describe.This distraction disturbs our Ecological balance.The existence of animals are going to be threatened.Due to deforestation carbon dioxide is increasing worldwide.As a result the world is becoming warmer. The sea level is rising and many parts of the world are going to be engulfed by the sea in the future.

As a result of deforestation there are a lot of areas in the world which are turning into desert.The removal of trees causes birds and other animals living on them to leave their place.It also causes serious damage to the soil, as trees give protection to soil.Because the soil get sediment in the river bed and causes frequent floods.So if we cut trees at random,One day the country will turn into a great desert.

As a result of deforestation all the living animals and birds will not find any food or shelter to live in.they will be completely destroyed.Again if trees are cut down randomly there will be no rain as a result our agriculture will face great crisis.Even the temperature will rise and it will causes greenhouse effect. After all of these results the country will be unsuitable for living and various natural calamities like flood, drought,storm etc will visit our country.

d)What measures should be taken to prevent deforestation?

To prevent deforestation,Measures should be taken immediately.People should be made aware of tree plantation through mass media.Tree plantation programme should be extended throughout the country.
